Meet Ms. Varnell
Ms. Varnell is so excited to share her sixth year teaching at Fuller Elementary School with you! She has been teaching full time since she graduated from Meredith College in 2013 with a double major in Education and Psychology. She began teaching at Green Hope Elementary in Cary, North Carolina to fulfill a long-term substitute position and then planted her roots at Fuller Elementary School at the start of the 2013-2014 school year, where she has been ever since! Her favorite parts about teaching are the "aha" moments! She loves seeing students light up when they've learned something new. She also really enjoys building relationships with her students, even if it means eating a whole bag of Taki's or doing the latest dances on the playground to prove to students that she's "cool", just like they are! ;)
Ms. Varnell has lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for nearly eight years, however, she is from a small town named Tarboro, North Carolina. She may consider herself a full-time teacher, but parenting a four year old chocolate lab is an even more demanding job than teaching fourth graders! She spends all of her time outside of school with her 98 pound-Hyper-Cuddling-Shoe Eating-Best Friend (Banks)! ...speaking of friends, that's another way Ms. Varnell likes to spend her time- with her boyfriend, friends and family, especially if it just so happens to involve food, which is another one of Ms. Varnell's favorites! Aside from teaching, Banks, friends, and family, Ms. Varnell also loves beach trips, books, Bible study, hunting and fishing with her family, and LOTS OF COFFEE... which she will definitely be clinging to every morning as she greets you with a smile waiting to see your "aha" moment of the day! :)
